Nik’s love of writing and storytelling has found a natural home at Sinclair. His sharp news instinct and boundless curiosity mean that he doesn’t know how to switch off – and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
A former food and digital editor at some of Hong Kong’s leading English language titles before shifting his focus to editorial and content strategy, Nik believes that everybody has a powerful story to tell if given the platform. His insider knowledge of the media landscape and nose for a story, and how to tell it, bring ideas to life in a highly engaging way.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Media & Communications from the universities of Melbourne and Hong Kong, Melbourne-born Nik is passionate about politics, history, syntax and stationary. He is fluent in English, French and Greek.
In the office, I’m known for… “Dry sarcasm and strong coffee. My beard isn’t just for show – it’s evidently given me barista superpowers.”
I’ve always wanted to travel to… “Western China for the food. Central Asia to experience the clash of cultures. And the former Soviet states for a slice of starkly confronting modern sociopolitical history. Or the American deep south for a mix of all three.”
When I was growing up, I wanted to be… “The sixth Backstreet Boy. I wish I was kidding.”
