Mindful fashion lovers in Hong Kong are in for a treat from Friday 17 November, when local social venture Luxarity presents a sustainability focused fashion pop-up, Made In Love, in Wan Chai.
The two-week shopping experience showcases a curated collection of pre-loved luxury fashion items, donated by members of the Hong Kong community and sold for a fraction of their original retail price. Made In Love will also present stunning designer capsule collections of 100 limited edition items crafted using up-cycled textiles. Created exclusively for Luxarity’s Made In Love, the collections have been created by emerging Hong Kong designers Loom Loop, Cynthia & Xiao, Ffixxed Studios and Yeung Chin, each of whom are have become leading local forces in the movement to shape a new vision for fashion.
Bringing together industry experts and leaders as well as other creative visionaries, Luxarity aims to change the fashion industry from within, co-creating a future for fashion that is sustainable and transparent. Major players in Hong Kong’s creative community are lending their influential support to the cause, including Lane Crawford, Swire Properties, SCAD, HK Design Centre, Design Trust, Awethentic Studios, ARTsy, Indicube, Sinclair and local designers, who have come together with the desire to amplify the call for conscious production and innovation that Luxarity advocates. Alongside these partners, Luxarity has organised a series of events over the two-week event period for wider audiences to discover the benefits of sustainable living.
All proceeds from Luxarity will go towards supporting creatives and designers, with educational grants focusing on sustainability, innovation and conscious production. Made In Love will support alumni from Parsons School of Design and SCAD graduates who have shown a commitment to using cutting-edge fashion technologies for sustainable product development.
Luxarity takes place at 15 St Francis Street, Wan Chai, from Friday 17 November to Saturday 2 December. For more information and a full run-down of events, please see luxarity.com.
