Sinclair took home six awards at Marketing Interactive’s PR Awards 2018, held on Friday 31 August. The wins came for people and work, as the independent agency continues its expansion throughout Greater China to deliver holistic communications strategy to clients across industry and sector.
Sinclair was awarded Gold in the Best PR Campaign – China category, for work on Shoes: Pleasure & Pain, a five-stop exhibition presented by Swire Properties in conjunction with V&A, London. The exhibition, which was presented at the V&A to critical acclaim and made its debut in Asia in 2017, was also awarded Bronze in the Best Launch/Relaunch category. The exhibition, which has been shown in Swire Properties locations in Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Beijing, opens at Pacific Place in Hong Kong this month.
Elsewhere, Sinclair was awarded Bronze for work with Singapore Tourism Board and Hong Kong Maritime Museum. In the Best Experiential PR Campaign category, Sinclair was honoured for On Sharks and Humanity, a contemporary art exhibition held at Hong Kong Maritime Museum in 2017 that sought to engage a community-wide conversation to stamp out shark finning. Sinclair also took home a gong for work with Singapore Tourism Board, a long-term retainer client, and their 2017 rebranding Passion Made Possible in the Best Promotional Campaign category. The global campaign, which launched in August 2017, presented a unified brand logo and tagline to market Singapore internationally for both tourism and business purposes.
Sinclair’s own brand relaunch was also awarded Bronze in the Best Use of Budget category. The #WeInfluence campaign, which launched in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese across Sinclair’s owned digital platforms, was a milestone of a 2017 which saw significant new client wins and a high percentage of retainer re-signings. The new name and brand identity formed part of a strategic repositioning of Sinclair from a lifestyle-focused agency to a full-service corporate and consumer brand consultancy, cementing the agency’s reputation as a leading, established agency proven by the calibre of world-leading brands on its client list.
Celebrating its ninth anniversary this year, Sinclair has also proven itself as a destination agency for emerging and established talent. The quality of its team was recognised with a win at the PR Awards 2018 for Elly Porter, Senior Account Manager, Shanghai, who was named Rising Star. This is Sinclair’s second consecutive win in the category, with Senior Account Manager Holly Chan taking home the title at last year’s awards. The individual win also comes off the back of awards for Sinclair CEO & Founder Kiri Sinclair and Account Director Rosanna Herries at the recent Campaign Asia PR Awards Asia.
