Down to business: Sinclair appointed for Business of Design Week and DFA Awards 2017

Business of Design Week 2017

Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) has appointed Sinclair as official integrated PR partner for the Business of Design Week and DFA Awards 2017 following a competitive pitch.

In developing a local and global PR strategy to maximise pre- and post-event conversation and engagement, Sinclair will create awareness, build international identity, establish regional recognition and exposure in the Hong Kong, Mainland of China and overseas markets for both major events taking place concurrently this December.

Business of Design Week (BODW), a flagship programme of HKDC, is Asia’s leading annual event dedicated to design, innovation and brands, and is an important global platform in Asia for knowledge exchange, professional networking and collaborative business opportunities in the design fields. The annual event brings the world’s most prominent masters in the design and creative industries to inspire Hong Kong’s own design community, business leaders and government officials, and has become a landmark event in the growth and diversification of the Hong Kong economy.

Since being inaugurated in 2002, BODW has seen some of the world’s most influential and successful creative masters, brand creators and innovators participating as speakers. The 2016 edition of BODW attracted over 140,000 participants over its week-long run, ranging from corporate leaders, policymakers, design professionals and leading global academics.

The DFA Awards were first held in 2003 to underpin the role of designers in society and to celebrate design leadership and exemplary design in Asia, as well as to recognise the rising force of emerging designers in Hong Kong through five major award categories. The Awards also honour and acknowledge design projects with the potential to improve the quality and vibrancy of life in Asia through the creation of globally sustainable ideas.

“Sinclair is thrilled to be working with two of the most significant international events in Asia for the business community and creative industries, which underline the importance of good design and creative leadership,” says Sinclair’s Founder and Managing Director, Kiri Sinclair. “With established expertise in devising and implementing effective integrated communications strategy for major international events, we are confident that we will be able to deliver excellent results for the Hong Kong Design Centre, helping forge a path for these landmark events to be bigger than ever.”

Business of Design Week and the presentation ceremony of the DFA Awards 2017 will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 4-9 December. For more details, see bodw.com or dfaawards.com.
