Innovators and entrepreneurs working in the sustainable innovation sector have a new potential strategic partner: Co+Lab Initiative.
Created by MTR Lab, Co+Lab Initiative officially launched in early November. It is a strategic platform that works together with like-minded partners to construct carbon-neutral communities and develop meaningful methods of building a more sustainable, technology-driven future.
“Hong Kong is on a mission to achieve carbon neutrality before 2050, and we intend to help the community get there,” said Michael Chan, Managing Director at MTR Lab.
“With the launch of our Co+Lab Initiative, we offer a platform for encouraging new paradigms in smart technology advances. By joining hands and building a home for innovators who dream of co-creating smarter, greener cities, we are able to work together with companies to rethink, design and build smart technology solutions that enrich the lives of everyone in our community.”
Who is Co+Lab Initiative looking to partner with?
The platform is investing in early-stage companies that operate and innovate across sectors of interest to MTR Lab, namely: mobility (Mobility as a Service, new mobility modes, rail tech), retail, property, financial and data services, smart city technology and sustainability.
What type of support can potential partners hope to receive?
Financial and strategic investments are available for companies that have gained traction in key focus markets, have sufficient operational and capital resources to work with large companies, and have presence or concrete plans to expand in Hong Kong as well as other cities where MTR Corporation operates. Co+Lab Initiative will work hand-in-hand with selected partners by offering them support, funding, knowledge and access to MTR Corporation’s expansive network.
“Co+Lab Initiative actively seeks long-term opportunities to support partners who share our vision of a more sustainable, technology-driven future, because we know that future-proof solutions work best when they’re led by the community, for the community,” said Michael.
Companies can now submit their pitch for investment with Co+Lab Initiative via MTR Lab’s new website: mtrlab.com.hk
