The Green Building Award (GBA) 2021 recognises sustainability efforts of buildings and projects that go above and beyond, thinking innovatively when planning, designing, and constructing new ideas. Leading property developer Henderson Land took home an array of accolades at the GBA, most notably the Pioneer Award in Green Building Leadership (Developer). This recognition is an outstanding display of Henderson Land’s sustainable innovations and contributions towards creating better livelihoods for communities.
When developing new ideas and projects, Henderson Land are dedicated to their G.I.V.E. sustainability strategy, namely Green for Planet, Innovation for Future, Value for People and Endeavour for Community. The strategy helped formulate the group’s 2030 Sustainability Vision which serves as a guide to advancing their overall sustainability performance.
Individual Henderson Land projects were recognised at the GBA for their outstanding sustainability principles and initiatives, including The Henderson at Murray Road in Central, Fanling North, and 280 Tung Chau Street in Sham Shui Po.
The Henderson achieved a Grand Award in the New Buildings Category: Projects Under Construction and/or Design – Commercial Building. This beautifully designed high-tech building equipped with green design features is set to create a sustainable workplace that is both safe and enjoyable, incorporating the use of zero UV, Solar Responsive Ventilator (SRV), and a revolutionised lift system.
Henderson Land’s Fanling North development was awarded twice at the GBA, where Fanling Sheung Shui Town Lot No. 262, Fanling North (Phase 1) won a Merit Award in the New Buildings Category: Projects under Construction and/or Design – Residential Building and the group’s Proposed Carbon-Neutral Retail Mall in Fanling North Town Plaza was a Finalist in the Research & Planning Category. The residential project holistically promotes “healthy building, healthy living”, and hopes to implement lifestyle elements and new technologies to enhance residents’ wellbeing.
Last but not least, 280 Tung Chau Street was a Finalist in the New Buildings Category: Projects under Construction and/or Design – Residential Building. The mixed-use redevelopment project redefines its community with the integration of green living, eco-friendliness, automation and cultural provision, creating an environment for residents to renew themselves and radiate positive impacts to the wider society.
