As part of the company’s 10th anniversary celebrations, FWD Insurance (FWD) reaffirmed its commitment to Community Care and empowerment by launching the ‘1OxFWD Volunteering Weeks’ initiative in July. Five Community Care partners and programmes were showcased, including Hong Kong’s CareER, Hong Chi Association, JA SparktheDream programme, Strive and Rise Programme, and Caritas Macau.
Over the course of two weeks, 1800 FWD employees from Hong Kong and Macau participated in various activities, including game challenges, charity sales and volunteer sharing sessions. Employees were able to make a positive impact, learn more about FWD’s initiatives and its charity partners, and demonstrate FWD’s core value of “caring”.
“Our team’s passion and unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in our community is heart-warming,” said Paul Tse, Chief Marketing and Digital Officer, FWD Hong Kong & Macau. “Having volunteered for both the JA SparktheDream programme and the Hong Chi Association myself, I have seen first-hand the impact of our community outreach efforts. By promoting financial literacy among young students and equipping those with special educational needs and disabilities with vocational skills, we can inspire them to achieve their life goals and create a brighter future for all to celebrate living.”
In line with its commitment to engaging with the community, FWD Hong Kong has implemented a new Community Care Volunteer Policy to encourage its employees to participate in volunteering activities.
“All FWD Hong Kong permanent employees will be granted two days of community leave per year for their time spent volunteering on approved programmes or activities,” said Miranda Au, Chief Human Resources Officer, FWD Hong Kong & Macau. “Through volunteering, employees can also earn FWD MAX points for redeeming lifestyle experiences on the FWD MAX platform, as well as participate in the company’s recognition activities. We believe that successful Community Care initiatives begin with engaged employees. Therefore, by affirming employees’ contribution and promoting a people-centric approach, we aim to create a positive impact on both our employees and the communities we serve.”
