Double happiness: Sinclair goes for gold in China with two award wins

Sinclair’s multiple award-winning run with Singapore Tourism Board continued in Beijing last week, with the independent PR agency taking home top-place honours at two awards ceremonies on 24 November.

At the Golden Flag Awards, Sinclair took home gold for the Singapore for Everyone campaign, which was given top honours in the category of The Best Public Influence for Content Marketing. Started in 2010 as an initiative of the Hong Kong Baptist University’s (HKBU) School of Communication, the Golden Flag Awards celebrate the best of PR on a global level, where case studies go through a rigorous jury process with judging panels formed by deans and academic faculty members from the HKBU School of Communications, senior executives from a some of the world’s biggest companies, and industry leaders in PR and media.

Across town at the 13th China Golden Awards for Excellence in Public Relations, Sinclair was awarded with more gold with another first-place finish in the Culture and Sport Communications category, also for the Singapore for Everyone campaign. Organsied biennially by the China International Public Relations Association (CIPRA), the Awards for Excellence are recognised as China’s most prestigious honour for public relations, aiming to showcase outstanding PR cases and promote the professional development of the industry in the Mainland. This year, Hong Kong Public Relations Professionals’ Association (PRPA) was invited by CIPRA to recruit entries from Hong Kong and Macau – this latest honour is the second recognition for Sinclair by PRPA this year, as Senior Account Manager Holly Chan was named Young PR Professional of the Year at a star-studded ceremony in June.

These two latest honours take Sinclair’s tally of awards for the year to 14, including 6 with Singapore Tourism Board. The awards come hot off the heels of the independent agency’s shortlisting at Campaign Asia-Pacific’s Agency of the Year Awards in the Greater China PR Agency of the Year and Independent Agency of the Year categories.
