Bank of China Hong Kong (BOC HK) and Mastercard have collaborated to bring Gen Z Hongkongers the BOC Chill Card – “The chill way to earn & enjoy.” It is the Bank’s first eco-friendly credit card, aiming to provide young customers who are fond of entertainment, leisure and green consumption with a “Chill” lifestyle. Young customers can enjoy a variety of cash rebates and a flexible Pay Later instalment service to suit their busy and social lifestyles, and spending patterns.
The BOC Chill Card provides a 10% cash rebate when spending on entertainment, leisure and green categories, and a 5% cash rebate on overseas and online spending, as well as mobile payments. An unlimited 0.4% cash rebate is applicable to other retail spending – perfect for those who love to shop!
Another key feature of the card is that customers can choose to Pay Later by repaying the payments in three, six or 12 months for any single transaction of HK$1,000 or above anytime, anywhere. The unlimited Pay Later handling fee rebate for instalment service is available for the first three months upon card activation. BOC Chill Card also offers global online shopping protection, where all online purchases will automatically enjoy up to USD200 (equivalent to about HKD1,500) protection, in the event of incomplete or wrong item delivery, the item is damaged during the delivery process, or non-delivery after 30 days.
The BOC Chill Card was launched in late June, with a launch ceremony held in a private clubhouse that oozes an atmosphere of cultural and artistic influences. Officiating guests included Mr Huang Jinyue, General Manager of BOC Credit Card (International) Ltd; Ms Joanne Lam, Deputy General Manager of BOC Credit Card (International) Ltd; Ms Helena Chen, Managing Director of Mastercard Hong Kong and Macau; and celebrities Miss Ashley Lin and Mr Chris Tong.
