Sinclair’s strategic communications consultation and dedication to team development was recognised at the Campaign Asia PR Awards Asia on 13 June, with wins in three major categories including the highly coveted award for Greater China PR Consultancy of the Year.
The only Greater China-born agency in the field, the significant honour saw Sinclair recognised as a leading independent, Integrated PR consultancy for Asia Pacific, bringing an adaptable and collaborative mindset to strategic holistic communications programmes across industry and sector.
The award also caps off a remarkable year of growth for the independent agency, which now boasts 45 communications consultants across offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong working to create business impact for clients through persuasive storytelling. In addition to significant new client wins and a high percentage of retainer re-signings throughout 2017, the agency launched a new name and brand identity in August as part of a strategic repositioning from a lifestyle-focused agency to a full-service corporate and consumer brand consultancy. The repositioning cemented Sinclair’s reputation as a leading, established agency proven by the calibre of world-leading brands on its client list, as well as a true destination agency for emerging and established talent.
Sinclair’s people were also awarded at the ceremony, with Founder and Managing Director Kiri Sinclair named PR Agency Head of the Year. A highly regarded industry leader in the region, Kiri established Hong Kong’s first Integrated PR agency and has overseen nine years of organic, sustainable growth with a high employee retention rate, increasingly diversified client base and regional expansion. A champion of the PR and communications industry, Kiri is Chair of industry body PRHK and is personally dedicated to demonstrating the value of PR to the business community while advocating for the next generation of industry talent.
Account Director Rosanna Herries, meanwhile, rose above a competitive field to be named Young PR Professional of the Year (Agency). A leader in Sinclair Arts, the agency’s dedicated Arts & Culture arm, 2017 saw Rosanna oversee successful integrated campaigns for key clients including Swire Properties, SCAD Hong Kong, Van Cleef & Arpels and Hong Kong Maritime Museum. Both individual honours were awarded at a regional level, with Rosanna’s win representing the agency’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of PR leaders in Asia.
“Sinclair has been built from the ground up by a team of dedicated colleagues whose creativity, integrity and passion were championed tonight with this incredible honour. Being awarded Greater China Consultancy of the Year, especially as the only Greater China-born agency to have been nominated, shows that there is a wealth of local strategic talent driving the PR and communications industry forward. Sinclair is delighted to be a platform where individuals across the PR, marketing, digital, social, content and analytical skillsets can shine and grow,” said Kiri Sinclair. “This award is testament to the partnership and trust extended to us by our clients, which keeps us motivated to achieve positive results that help drive meaningful business impact. To them, I would like to say a grateful and heartfelt thank you for their support over the years.”
Kevin Lam, Executive Director and seven-year veteran of Sinclair said: “I am thrilled that Sinclair has been recognised as an industry leader in Greater China. I could not think of a better gift on the eve of our ninth anniversary this week than to be awarded so highly for our work, our people and our culture. Thank you to our colleagues and to the clients that have supported us over the years.”
